Online resources: Summary: The sedimentary fill of Golfo San Jorge basin has been subject to, at least 3 extensional phases with varying stress orientation (Figari et al., 1999; Paredes et al., 2018), each phase is represented by a family of extensional faults with their own orientation and displacement. Understanding the role of tectonics in the distribution and nature of the sedimentary infill of a given area is crucial to improve the prospective models. In this study six regional faults were selected, regarding their lateral and vertical extension, to evaluate their throw distribution, and six depth-converted seismic horizons that represents the main stratigraphic units of interest, from the top of the Igneous-metamorphic basement to the top of Salamanca Formation, to assess the throw distribution for every unit. With the depth-converted fault and horizon data, throw vs length graphics and isopach maps, to understand the activity and growth and linkage of all six faults and recognize which faults conditioned the sedimentation of the units of interest. From this analysis two groups of faults: deep faults and southern fault system, the first one has the maximum throws in the study area, with an absolute maximum of 1300 m for the top of the Basement; while the latter has throw values lesser than 400 m. Only the deep faults condition the thickness distribution in the study area. The most conspicuous feature is an hemigraben bounded by a south dipping fault, which affected the thickness distribution of Las Heras Group and the lower section of Pozo D-129 Formation.
