Travi field, Venezuela Natural fractures’ characterization was based on geometric and morphologic properties observed on P1 and P2 cores, taken in Merecure Formation (late Oligocene). The main fractures observed were: Tension fissures and irregular cracks, some of them affected by dissolution, and others are total or partially cemented. A few of these fractures were partially reactivated by tectonics events, showing slickenlines and clear shear effects. During diagenesis process, some fine-scale fractures were formed and filled by calcareous material or clay minerals. Tectonics fractures and joints are less common, but most of them are open fractures having a positive effect in oil production. Additionally, a dynamic analysis was performed to determine the influence of fractures and asphaltenes on the Matrix-Fracture system and their impact on oil production. Considering the information taken from well P1, was made a correlation using Core data and Production Well Log data, showing the relationship between natural fractures, asphaltenes and production profile. The results show that the main production come from high density natural fractures zones and where asphaltenes concentration is low, since whether asphaltenes concentration is greater than 15%, production is null. Moreover, was defined a production limit in a specific depth.
