| 520 | _aThe objective is to integrate Distributed Energy Resources (DER’s) such as PV and micro-CHP (Combined Heat and Power) systems even an Energy Storage system constituting an electrical microgrid. The DER’s will be connected to the grid or isolated. The microgrid is designed for operating in optimal conditions from an economical and environmental point of view, needless to say, generating a power quality according to the standards. With this project we want to answer the questions, concerns, and problems created by a high increase of energy consumption, optimising operation, generating power quality in accordance with the sustainable development. In the test plant, installed in the Alava Technology Park (near Bilbao), a 3-kWe PV system, a 30- kWe natural gas microturbine and a 9.5-kWe natural gas Stirling engine are running, together in conjunction with the Management System for the microgrid. Also, we are going to fit out a electrical storage system. The project result is an intelligent microgrid combining efficiently different energy sources including PV systems. The microgrid acts as a test site for future research and validation of new technological approaches and solutions. | ||
