520 _aResumen original del autor: A variety of constituents found in the products of combustion have been targeted for postcombustion control by national and local regulatory agencies. Primary among these are sulfur dioxide (SO2), oxides of nitrogen (NOx appearing mainly as NO), and particulate. Additional emphasis has recently been placed upon the control of hazardous air pollutants (HAPs or "air toxics") which are usually found in trace quantities. This paper specifically addresses technologies for the postcombustion control of these emissions. The control of NOx by combustion system improvements and the control of SO2 and NOx through the implementation of fluidized bed combustion technology are covered extensively in References 1 and 2. In most cases, the postcombustion control technologies discussed here may be added to these two technologies to further reduce emissions
