The increase in energy demand would have a great impact on the national energy infrastructure. While coal-fired electric power dominates the Chinese market, natural gas appears to be the best substitute for coal to support the sustainable development of the country. Gas air conditioner is good for environmental protection. Its life-span cost is comparatively lower than that of an electric one. This article reflects the background, the status quo and the future market situation. The technology is explained as a "Three-win selection" in terms of national economy, environment and clients.
