Developed torches are used for cutting steel ranging 900-2000mm, where its inferior straightness of flame acts as shortcomings; this study improved this. This research estimated performance of the torches, designed based on fundamental concepts, through numerical analysis, and for the torches thus fabricated, conducted on-site tests varying thickness of cutting steel. When the cut surfaces were compared with those made by using the existing LPG torches, drag and kerf were very close allowing only five to seven percent decrease of cutting speed. Developed torches comprise a torch for 900-1200mm, one for 1200-1500mm, and two for 1500-2000mm. Developed torches are currently in use by a company manufacturing engines for large ships.
