All of the work was carried out by WOC8 members, and was organized by Strategic Topics (ST) and Study Groups (SG). Surveys were also conducted on the IGU membership and the results are interpreted in this report. The members of the ST’s and SG’s are listed in Appendix 1 of the general section. The themes addressed by the groups were the following: * Climate Change * Sustainable Development * Clean Development Mechanism * Environment, Health and Safety Performance * Methane Emissions Reduction The activities of Task Force C (TFC), established by the IGU to monitor the global climate change process, will also be summarized in this report, as most of its members were drawn from WOC8. The triennium was full of significant challenges, such as those presented by deregulation, heightened awareness of the issues surrounding climate change and sustainable development, growing public scrutiny of pipeline safety, and a resurgence of concern over the threats of terrorist activities in the aftermath of September 11. The commitment and contributions of a relatively small number of WOC8 members throughout this challenging period have made this work, and this report possible.
