520 _aTranscripción del abstract original del autor: The Dutch government is committed to fulfill the Kyoto requirements in reducing the CO2 emissions. In case the energy savings options and renewables would not deliver sufficient reductions, a call can be made on other options like ‘Clean Fossil’, implying storage of CO2 in the deep subsurface. This report summarizes the investigations undertaken by NAM on request of the government to evaluate the feasibility of CO2 sequestration. The plan considered is to compress CO2 from a SHELL refinery in Rotterdam, transport it through a 30 km pipeline and injecting it into to a depleted gas field in the South-Western part of the Netherlands. The feasibility study addresses the technical, commercial, legal, environmental acceptance and safety aspects of compression, transport and injection of CO2. In addition, potential economic use of CO2, for example for use in greenhouses, is considered.
