Emission calculations using different approaches to specification of emission sources, different emission coefficients and different criteria of classification of gas system elements in respect of their emission magnitude have been carried out. The model fragment under consideration consists of gas transmission pipelines (20000 km), gas distribution pipelines (100000 km), 5500 measuring and regulation stations, (2000 of high pressure and 3500 of low and medium pressure), compressor stations having a total power of 250 MW. Gas pipelines, compressor stations and measuring – reduction stations have been divided in categories of different age. In case of gas distribution pipelines partition on gas pipelines materials (steel, and polyethylene) have been also introduced and measuring and regulation stations have been divided according the operation pressure. In the simplest scenario the aggregated emission coefficients given by IPCC for different world regions have been used. Next calculations have been executed using emission coefficients determined lately for USA and Canada and those recommended by IGU for gas systems of small, average and high emission. In other scenarios the authors have taken into account different emission coefficients for emission sources of different age. Further de-aggregation has been made taking into account material and working pressure of elements. Comparison of results has been made and the areas of inventory, which are the source of the greatest uncertainties have been pointed out. The suggestions of further activities aiming to minimisation of these uncertainties have been also shown. | ||
