Since it started operations in 1984, the Terminal has proceeded to conduct activities that contribute to the local community and environment, positioning the harmonious relationship with the local community as the basic condition for the pursuit of its business activities. In 1997, the Production Department acquired ISO14001 certification in environmental management and has proceeded to reduce CO2 emission by energy conservation activities, reduce greenhouse effect gases such as fluorine and to reduce waste and promote the recycling of resources. At present, the conservation of biological diversity is attracting attention as one of the major issues of the global environment. Under such circumstances, the Himeji LNG Terminal has commenced activities to improve the Terminal green zones for the creation of a diverse ecosystem as an activity to contribute to the community from a new perspective. This report describes the work that has been performed and the plans to realize green zones with an abundance of biological diversity.
