Unlike in other industries, so far LNG terminal operators' design feedbacks in terminal design have inactively limited compared to their important roles in an LNG chain. This paper presents the practical design improvements against the conventional design problems occurred unexpectedly during terminal operation and maintenance. These involve boil-off gas treatment, sendout pressure control, LNG unloading, and vapor return. The reliability analysis of main equipment is also presented for estimating the terminal sendout availability based on the actual operation and maintenance rates. This study provides an operator's feedback accumulated from the experience in operation and maintenance not only for other terminal operators, but also for design engineers who make every effort to contribute to a better LNG terminal design. | ||
