| 520 | _aTranscripción del abstract original del autor: LNG is an environmental friendly energy fuel, yet there are potentials across the LNG chain for reducing the greenhouse gas emissions. Measures for a baseload LNG plant to reduce greenhouse gas emissions include using better processes for acid gas removals, using turbine waste heat recovery for solvent regeneration and other heating requirements, adopting aero-derivative turbines, or a combined cycle arrangement, considering all electric motor drivers for driving the refrigerant compressors, and using liquid expanders for increasing LNG production. For LNG carriers the adoptions of shipboard re-liquefaction of LNG boil-off and efficiency improvement of propulsion fuel system are options to be considered. In LNG receiving and regasification terminals, measures of cold energy recovery and flaring reduction through better design and plant operation should be considered. Synergy between the LNG receiving terminal and an adjacent end user is also a possible option. This paper examines various technologies available to each segment of the LNG chain for reducing the greenhouse gas emissions. | ||
