| 520 | _aThe increase of oil production in the San Jorge Gulf Basin is based on a precise understanding of the complexity of reservoirs and types of fluids, which optimizes the completion program. The use of conventional perforating technologies and the selection of some intervals to fracture is a common practice in the completions of new wells. For a budget and viability issues, the reservoirs with the greatest potential are selected to stimulate, while the rest only produce through conventional completions (perforated zones). The methodology consists of the petrophysical evaluation through conventional and magnetic resonance logs to obtain properties such as effective porosity, irreducible fluid, permeability and fluid typing, in order to identify the best reservoirs, which were not previously selected to stimulate hydraulically, and being perforated with propellant (potassium perchlorate). Jobs are performed with wireline and not through pipes, which considerably reduces costs and operating times.Perforating + Propellant produce carbon dioxide at extremely high pressures in a millisecond time regime to overcome stress in situ and generate micro-fractures in the vicinity of the wellbore that help to improve fluids flow. The present work shows that a correct petrophysical evaluation, added to the use of propellant with perforated guns, increase the production of hydrocarbons. | ||
