520 _aSeismic Tomography as an interpretation tool. This paper presents a novel product that we have called Processed Tomographic Model (MTP), which is obtained from the processing of the tomographic velocity model resulting from the inversion of the times of the first arrivals of the seismic field records. The MTP has a seismic character and provides interpretable information from the topographic surface, which is an important complement to 2D / 3D seismic interpretation. In areas of strong topography and, in general, with complex geology, it is possible with the use of the MTP to more reliably correlate the outcrops with the shallowest seismic reflectors and in this way adjust the integral interpretation of the entire work area. Among some of its applications, the MTP can be used for the exploration of sub-superficial deposits of hydrocarbons or to complement the shallow part of deeper studies. Also for the identification and structural monitoring of freshwater aquifers, that should be protected behind pipelines in the design of the well conductor casing. In the present job two historical cases will be presented and commented.
