The following study describes a 3D acquisition survey of approximately 200 km2 in Neuquén Basin, the primary objective being Vaca Muerta formation (2200 m TVDSS). There are intrusive bodies in the survey area, which could represent potential hazards in drilling, completion and performance of future wells. One of the primary objectives of the study was the identification of these geologic hazards, both deep and shallow. The technique of acquisition selected to that end was Dynamic Slip Sweep (DSS) with nodal land system. One of the main challenges of this work was obtaining good quality data with a considerable time and costs reduction using nodes and DSS instead of geophones arrays and flip-flop with vibrator arrays. As a result, excellent quality data (suitable for reservoir characterization) was obtained. The use of nodes instead of geophone arrays and the DSS acquisition technique led to approximately 200 million traces, with max offset 10 km, incident angles up to 50-60° and nominal fold of 180. In addition, costs, time and personnel on the field were found to decrease between 35 and 50%, when compared to a conventional acquisition (geophones and flip-flop mode).
