The Tres Quebradas salar is located 100 km west of Fiambalá city, Catamarca. In order to improve the geological model and continue drilling exploratory wells, a seismic data acquisition using the 2D reflection method was carried out for the first time in Argentina. At the time of seismic adquisition, there were 16 drilled wells, indicating a sedimentary fill consisting of halite with interbeded clastic sediments that constitute the reservoirs of lithium mineralized brine and a basement at 300 m deep, which was estimated to reach 700 m in its center. A survey of 49 km, in 11 2D seismic lines with 2,478 shorts was recorded, along and across the salar, including the alluvial fans and borders. Registration parameters with adequate spatial and temporal sampling were used. A vibrator as a power source and a telemetric recording equipment were used. Processing consisted of noise attenuation, static corrections, interactive velocity analysis, and pre-stack migration (PSTM). The frequency spectral content obtained was greater than 40 Hz with very good image quality. The seismic interpretation determined a basement up to 850 m, limited on the eastern border by a main subvertical fault of a halfgraben basin. An intermediate relevant horizon in the sedimentary column was determined, coinciding with the base of massive halite overlying "Lower Sediments" where it was drilled a well up to 647 m deep discovering mineralized fanglomerates. Clastic sediments were estimated for the alluvial cones, drilling wells up to 350 m deep finding them mineralized. Currently 26 platforms have been drilled
