With over 60 years of production, oilfields located in Fraccion A lease, Tierra del Fuego Argentina, can be considered mature fields. As such, they dont́ have a strong field development plan, nor have been subject of study during recent years. In addition to that, there were poor results associated to the last wells drilled in the area. In order to define a solid development plan and characterize the Springhill formation, a study was carried out by a multidisciplinary team. The initial data included a single GOC and WOC for the entire field, low recovery factor and high hydraulic communication, all of which suggested that infill opportunities would be of interest. As a result of the analysis, the team concluded that there were in fact multiple fluid contacts, high compartmentation and much higher recovery factor than the originally thought. These conclusions discarded infill drilling and redirected the search for new drilling opportunities in non-depleted areas, away from the mainfield. A new development plan was set, and the identified uncertainties were considered by providing P10-P50-P90 scenarios. This paper summarizes the study and its main conclusions.
