For this, four different tools were evaluated considering the versatility of use in multilayer reservoirs, computer resources necessary for its execution, implementation times and responses delivered. We worked with the same data set corresponding to the Las Mesetas Oeste Block II project, from which models were generated in a data driven simulator, flow line simulator, conventional simulation and analytical simulator integrated into a capacitive-resistive model. Throughout the process, the information preparation, loading and processing times in each software were analyzed, as well as the times required for the adjustment, generation and consistency of scenarios, the degree of predictability and the feasibility of implementation that they had. Data driven tools, flow lines and analytical simulation tools allow a quick analysis to be obtained, although with less precision compared to a numerical simulation. The latter have the advantage of working with more robust models but with more preparation times and information requirements. The availability of a static model with an advanced degree of development is essential in this type of reservoir to be able to represent the reservoir with a high degree of confidence and understand the behavior of production
