A pilot scheme that uses an aqueous salt of an amino acid to remove flue gas CO2 has shown how effective carbon capture of this kind could be in a full-scale project. Among the process’s benefits are a capture rate of 90 per cent plus, low environmental impact, and quick installation and commissioning.
