By: Contributor(s): Description: 11 pDDC classification:
  • CD I249 1 0013788
In: Summary: Transcripción del abstract original del autor: This report is devoted to the issues of the development of relations between Russia and the CIS, as well as the Baltic countries on the gas market. The research is based upon the general showings of demand and distribution of natural gas in the former USSR countries, the reason for the drop in gas consumption in the period of transition from centralized management to market relations is shown. A strategy for improving mutually advantageous forms of integration of national gastransporting systems into a single system of the CIS countries has been formed which may serve a good ground for the recovery and expansion of the consumer market of Russian natural gas in the CIS countries. A retrospect of the development of gas-transporting systems of the CIS and Baltic countries shows the redundancy of production assets and the present market relations dictate new solutions, in particular, re-profiling of the capacities into the transport of liquid hydrocarbon. The report aims to show that relations between Russia and the CIS countries should be built on the basis of mutually advantageous partnership with the consideration of objective tendencies in the development of gas industries of all the CIS countries.
