<subfield code="a">In recent years, unconventional hydrocarbon reserves have been successfully developed worldwide as a result of the implementation of the "factory model", which is driven by the repeated use of key operational technologies, primarily horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing. Operating companies continuously pursue ways to optimize their completion and stimulation designs to increase well productivity and recovery rates, striving to minimize operational impact. A key aspect necessary to maximize production in wells designed with multiple fracturing stages is to fine-tune perforation configuration and efficiency. Perforation Analysis, a diagnostics service performed by running downhole video cameras, provides post stimulation in-situ images and dimensions of each perforation. With this information, operators can quantify how much erosion each perforation suffered throughout hydraulic fracturing process of each stage, which directly relates to the efficiency of both the completion and stimulation designs in each well. The data obtained can be statistically analyzed to identify trends, biases, and variances at the stage, cluster, and perforation level. These results can also be used to update the number of perforations (NP) and perforation diameter (DP) variables in the Limited Entry equation, optimizing pressure differentials during stimulation and thus improving on their design. This service was recently implemented successfully in a shale oil well targeting the Vaca Muerta formation. The results helped to establish a comparison of different completion designs used in the well, identifying key variables providing the best fracture development metrics. These results now act as reference for implementation in upcoming development wells.</subfield>
