<subfield code="a">The identification of the heterogeneities in Vaca Muerta Fm. is key to understand the variability in the quality and the behavior of the reservoir to optimize the full field development. The goal of this paper is to present an integrated study of the geology and petrophysics of Vaca Muerta Formation in a core area of the Play in the Neuquén Basin. This characterization is presented through a static model of the reservoir that includes mineralogical variables as part of the key parameters for the visualization and analysis of spatial changes, increasing predictability in the study area and encouraging synergy with other disciplines for integrated assessment. In a first stage, petrophysical calculations were done with a deterministic-probabilistic model incorporating 21 wells with basic and/or special electrical logs into the calculations, adjusting the final determinations with laboratory data on different types of rock samples (cutting, sidewell cores and cores). As well as this, a static model was built with the information of 38 vertical wells and 72 horizontal wells distributed throughout the area with the output of petrophysical interpretations such as total porosity, total saturation, TOC and inorganic mineralogy (volume of carbonates, quartz+feldspars and clay). In a second stage, the analysis of the results and the integration within a regional paleogeographic context of the Quintuco-Vaca Muerta System led to the identification of two zones with different mineralogical behavior: 1) a ramp area with higher relative calcareous content (lower clastic content) and a divergent pattern of mineralogy in well logs. 2) a mixed platform with a greater presence of clastic content, showing a prograding pattern in well logs that evidences a characteristic of the system. The characterization of two different geomorphological areas based on the distribution of the mineralogical properties leads to a better understanding of well performance, improve stimulation designs, adjust drilling programs and geosteering models.</subfield>
