Those induced fractures and their effectiveness accounts for successful and economic development projects. An early application in local context was the generation of planar fractures on Tight Gas Reservoirs (TGR), enabling horizontal wells to produce at economic rates from the Mulichinco Fm. in the Aguada Pichana area. With the dawn of the shale plays, the technique was adapted to create the so-called stimulated rock volumes (SRV); that means the creation of reservoir conditions through the generation of an interconnected complex fracture network in a naturally non reservoir source rock. In Argentina, the Vaca Muerta Formation (VM) was an excellent source rock candidate to be evaluated with the fracture stimulation technology. In that sense, measuring, mapping, and modelling the SRV network have become a main topic for the industry. Consequently, a significant constant technical and economic effort have been done to optimize, innovate and test new applications of geophysical techniques to monitor the SRV by pushing the limits on microseismic, and pioneering on the use of 4D seismic as well as installing an early passive monitoring network to know the background seismicity level of the potential producer areas. This work summed up the acquired experience and results in these 14 years journey on the use of the different techniques fulfilling the original objectives in terms of innovation, value creation and sustainability UR - https://biblioteca.iapg.org.ar/ArchivosAdjuntos/Conexplor2022/Simp.Microsísmica/microsismica01.pdf ER -
