IMPLICANCIAS EN LA ESTRATEGIA DE DESARROLLO U1 - 068.82 553.28 C62 15730 N2 - Barranca de Los Loros is a mature oilfield in the northeast region of the Neuquén Basin, with production coming from marine to mixed, fluvial-alluvial, and also volcanic reservoirs. The volcanic units are responsible to 32,3% of the accumulated production of this field, estimated at 1836224 m3 of oil (July 2021). These volcanic units have been productive in two zones corresponding to structural highs and different fields named Barranca de los Loros and Barranca de los Loros Norte. The most productive well is the BLL x-3 with more than one volcanic level. The core information from this well and others were used in order to characterize facies, reservoirs-seals, and analyze seismic response. Rhyolitic pyroclastics rocks intercalated with thinner basic rocks are the rocks described, and the best reservoirs - that correspond to moderated welded ignimbrites - shows porosity between 8-18% and permeability 0,26-16 mD. The 3D seismic in the volcanic sequence and electric logs allows to interpret a tabular depositional architecture with tectonic deformation near the faults, according to the complex extensional and compressional history of the area. The volcanic rocks described are generally fragile and have open fractures network related to both tectonic and igneous origin that build a double porosity and double permeability reservoir system.
