<subfield code="a">The Vaca Muerta-Quintuco system is characterized by a succession of prograding clinoforms associated to a mixed siliciclastic-carbonate platform developed in a restricted marine environment during the Tithonian-to Valangian period, mainly in the embayment of the Neuquén Basin. In this system, meter-to-decameter mass-transport deposits (MTD) and slump structures are identified, as well in outcrops as in subsurface (wells and seismic data), associated to the shelf-breaks of these clinoforms. To date the largest Massive Transport Deposit (MTD) structure in the Neuquén Basin is the Sierra Chata megastructure, located mainly in the eastern half of the Sierra Chata block. A MTD consists in a synsedimentary complex structure, characterized by a composite set of different structural elements such as normal, reverse and strike-slip faults, asymmetrical folds of different sizes, spatially organized in structural domains (extensive, transport and contraction) and vertically strongly limited within a specific set of sedimentary layers (without deforming the layers below and above the structures). The interpretation is done on a recently (2019) reprocessed 3-D seismic data acquired in 1999 within the Sierra Chata block and completed by neighboring 3-D seismic data. Detailed structural and stratigraphic characterization of the entire MTD is made using combination of selected seismic attributes. External boundaries as well as internal structures are identified, and their spatial distribution is used to characterize the different structural domains in which the MTD is divided. The analysis of the deformation made on seismic data is completed by the integration of the interpretation of the electric and image logs of the wells crossing the MTD structure. The characterization of the different types of structure as well as the estimation of intensity of the associated deformation allows us to draw an operational risk map associated to the MTD for the drilling project targeting the basal (lower enriched) section of the Vaca Muerta shale.</subfield>
