<subfield code="a">The Quintuco Formation at the Loma La Lata, Loma Campana and Bandurria Sur fields is composed of a thickness of about 750 m of limestones, sandstones and mudstones that shows risky gas kicks for the drilling wells to the underlying Vaca Muerta Formation. A mapping of the gas kicks was carried out to locate the area of greatest risk, using geological strip log of about 690 wells. The depth, intensity and thickness of the gas manifestations were surveyed for each influx. They were then mapped by stratigraphic units, observing an increase towards the interior of the basin, in the center of the Loma Campana and Bandurria Sur fields. An intensity scale was made for gas peaks of 1 (0 to 500,000 ppm) and 2 (500,000 to 1,000,000 ppm), and for gas kicks of 3 (saturates the chromatograph), 4 (saturates the chromatograph for a long time) and 5 (strong influx). Mud losses were also surveyed, assigning negative values: -1 slight, -2 strong and -3 strong or total loss. The intensity of the influxes is interpreted to be associated with certain factors such as: the greater thickness and proximity to the source rock, faults and differential compaction in the shale at the border or carbonate bars that produces fractures in the surrounding material. They are associated with any lithology but are more frequent in mudstones than in grainstones or sandstones. Higher of influxes values are associated with higher cumulated oil. Mud losses are related to greater intensity of influx values</subfield>
