Aplicación en el Yacimiento de Vega Pléyade (Cuenca Austral) U1 - 068.82 553.28 C62 2018 0015650 PY - 2018/// KW - Sísmica KW - Modelos geológicos KW - Cuenca Austral N2 - Vega Pléyade is the latest gas field in production since February 2016 in CMA-1 area, operated by Total Austral in partnership with Wintershall Energy and Pan American Energy. Vega Pléyade is the southernmost gas reservoir of the world, developed from a platform located 20 km offshore Tierra del Fuego at 30 to 70 meters water depth and connected through a gas pipeline to the process facilities in Rio Cullen.The initial production potential of Vega Pléyade was 9 Mm3/d gas with two long offset deviated wells, up to 4234 m and 3565 m from the platform with horizontal drains of about 500 m. The reservoir consists of Hauterivian transgressive sandstones of the Springhill formation at a depth of around 1300 m tvdss.The results from these wells showed good initial productivities with KxH (permeability times thickness) values consistent with the static and dynamic geological models.The drilling of successful wells and reservoir productivity depends on the accuracy and the predictability of the geological model. In this context, the use of new methods to diminish and quantify the model ś uncertainties is important. Usually, the use of seismic data in the building of the geological model is limited to map the main geological surfaces and faults to provide a structural framework. Also, seismic data is used to generate different attributes that help to characterize the properties of the reservoir and the hydrocarbon fluids. The methodology "Close theLoop" allows going one step further and help to calibrate the geological model with the seismic data through a quantitative comparison of a synthetic seismic (computed from the geological model with the use of a rock physics model) with the acquired seismic data (amplitude, AVO, impedance). In this way it is possible to identify areas and intervals of the reservoir that require a review of the geological/petrophysical parameters of the model. Therefore, an integrated iterative process results in an improvement of the geological model.The use of the methodology "Close theLoop" in the construction of geological models is, indeed, a very useful tool to diminish uncertainties and improve the representativeness of the final models.
