Since 2013 RDM development has focused on the Mulichinco Formation. Following the discovery and gas production from Agrio Formation (Pilmatué or Inferior Member) by Petrobras oil company in the Mangrullo field, and with previous information from RDM, a closer look was taken in the latter formation to define its potential in RDM field, through the understanding of the entrapment model.Seismostratigraphic analysis of Agrio Formation allowed to recognize stratigraphic arrangements between reservoirs and seals (both regional and local), which with addition of the structural configuration provided a starting point for the understanding of the entrapment model and thus the fluid distribution. Petrophysical information interpreted from sidewall cores and well logs were combined with resulting maps from the previous output. Therefore porosity, water saturation and OGIP maps were generated, allowing to identify and limit best potential areas of the field. Once static characterization was finished, probabilistic production forecasts were generated using an Integrated Production Model for a type well to calculate economics. Interdisciplinary works between different disciplines yielded a prospective model of the Agrio Formation to evaluate both productivity and rentability.The resulting model shows not only a structural component for the trap, but also a stratigraphical component. In RDM field, given the internal sequential arrangement between reservoirs and local seals, best potential sequences are associated with Agua de la Mula Member (Agrio Superior Member). As for Pilmatué Member, due to better lateral continuity of the sand facies (few seals in the progradational sequences), prospective areas would be located high in the structure (Mangrullo field) because of the well-defined structural closure.The studies encouraged proposing a Workover in Agrio Formation at RDM. The model validation will allow gas production as well as reserves addition.
