    <subfield code="a">Based on subsurface data, this work documents the relationships between tectonics and sedimentation duringthe EarlyPliensbachian&amp;#x96;Early Callovian (CuyoGr.) in thewestern segment of the Huincul High,one of the most complex areas of the prolific Neuquen basin (Argentina). The Cuyo Gr., which records the opening of the Neuquen Basin to the proto-Pacific Ocean, constitutes an up to 2,800 meter-thick second order transgressive&amp;#x96;regressive sequence composed of basinal organic-rich shales, interbedded with fine to coarse grained sandstones, and slope mudstones (Los Molles Fm.), shallow-water and coastal conglomerates, sandstones and shales (Lajas Fm.), and terrestrial reddish deposits (Challac&#xF3; Fm.).The Huincul Highis a 300 km W-E oriented complex macrostructure comprisingpaleohighs, folds and folds related to reverse and inverted normal faults, generated under a N30&#xB0;W s1 compressive event during Jurassic and Cretaceous time. The stratigraphy and structure of the Huincul High has been studied at different scales during more than 100 years, due to the multilayer complex oil and gas fields present there. Nevertheless, data dispersion coupled with lessinformation compared to adjacent areas (notably the Neuqu&#xE9;n Embayment) have hindered its understanding and the stratigraphiccorrelations between both areas.The main goals were a) to carry out a new stratigraphic and structural interpretation based on data integration, b) to define of a correlation skin between fields, and c) to analyze the unit equivalence between this environment and the less deformedEmbayment.Data used in this work include 3,000 km2 of 3D seismic, completed with logs, core, cutting and biostratigraphic data from more than 80 wells. Subsurface data significantly improved our 3D understanding of the Huincul High.Interpreted cyclesreveal a large-scale progradational, shallowing-upward pattern for the CuyoGr., punctuated by several major seismic surfaces, including two angular unconformities, traceable into those defined in the adjacent Embayment.Both upwards and updip, distal aggradationaldeep-water TOC-rich shales evolve into slope mudstoneswith a sigmoidal seismic-scale geometry (Los Molles Fm.) and then intocoastal and finally continental deposits (LajasandChallac&#xF3;Fms., respectively) with horizontal to discontinuous seismic facies. The oldest units display a ramp geometry, which after the Intra-Toarcian unconformity event evolved into a well-defined clinoformal geometryrevealingan overall northwestwardsprogradation of the entire system.The improved 3D information of the Huincul High shows that the CuyoGr.stratigraphy and depositional-system geometry were deeply controlled by the Huincul High structures and their timing.</subfield>
