Áreas Los Bastos y Punta Senillosa, Cuenca Neuquina U1 - 068.82 553.28 C62 2018 0015644 KW - Inversión sísmica KW - Formación Los Molles KW - Cuenca Neuquina N2 - The seismic inversion conducted in Las Chivas and Punta Senillosa structures (56 km2) resulted in a key technique to successfully prospect oil and gas resource potential and production in Los Molles Fm. basal sandstone reservoir (lower Jurassic). This objective lies over the Pre-Cuyo Group and corresponds to inner platform tuff sand facies, with a variable net pay from 4 to 35 m, average porosity of 15% and permeability between 0.01 and 0.1 mD. This reservoir shows not only strong lateral variations of thickness and petrophysic properties but also is interbeded with limestone tuffs and organic-rich mudstones levels (Chaschil Member), resulting thus in a complex prospection setting. The main purpose of this study was to obtain and analyze impedances and other elastic properties to better estimate the most favorable areas of hydrocarbon bearing reservoir presence. Pre-stack time migrated seismic gathers, previously conditioned without gains and filters, were used together with to LCh.xp-1, LCh-1003 and PS.xp-1005 well logs. A cross-plots analysis guaranteed the inversion feasibility by separating reservoir sandstones from other non-reservoir lithology. The inversion method was based on an initial earth model created from well log impedances and seismic horizon interpretations of Quintuco Fm., the base of Vaca Muerta Fm., Los Molles Fm., and an organic level of Los Molles Fm. Acoustic and elastic impedances cubes were obtained as well as Poisson’s Ratio, Lambda-Rho and Mhu-Rho volumes. All of them were used to generate lateral property distribution maps which allowed the quantitative interpretation of reservoir areas with the best effective porosity. The results showed a very good fit with drilled wells, but more importantly, successfully predicted the gas and condensate bearing reservoirs of PS-1015 y PS.x-1018 discovery wells drilled during the appraisal campaign in year 2017. So, it allowed the delimitation of a new oil & gas reservoir in Punta Senillosa field. Additionally, the results were used to improve seismic well tie and the structural and stratigraphic interpretation. Seismic inversion proved to be a very effective tool to successfully explore Los Molles Fm. basal sandstones objective, despite of local seismic amplitude attenuated areas UR - https://biblioteca.iapg.org.ar/ArchivosAdjuntos/Conexplor2018/SGeof/1512.pdf ER -
