N2  - The field of research focused on the Atuel River Concession, located on the southern part of the Mendoza Province; over the Malargüe, San Rafael and San Carlos Departments, in the Neuquina Basin. Using satellite imagery, thematic maps were elaborated through digital classification and as a result of combining the different bands. The Maps obtained, together with the bibliographic information and regional maps, allowed to highlight and delimit lithologies of concern, and distinguish structures in an accurate, fast and cost-effective way. The information was integrated with general cartographic data, locations, road network, hydrographic network, seismic lines, 3D seismic cubes, and wells into a GIS database. Finally, as a result, we obtained a trustworthy and systematic source of information that is highly useful for oil exploration and easily accessible for interpretation of geological data
