Maragüe, Provincia de Mendoza, Argentina U1 - CD I116 64 0015469 N2 - Methodology applied to the construction of static-dynamic models in the folds and thrust belt of the Neuquén Group, Malargüe area, Mendoza province, Argentina The present study discusses the application of an integrated reservoir 3D modeling process in a complex anticline structure. The Cerro Fortunoso field is an asymmetrical anticline with a highlydipping Eastern flank located in the Malargüe fold and thrust belt. The field has only 2D seismic with a very poor quality. Reservoir consists of alluvial-fluvial continental sediments of Neuquén Group (~ 600 m). A 3D static model representing structural complexity and depositional sequences was constructed to support the expansion from a pilot to a full field waterflood. To determine the secondary recovery potential of the field it was critical to understand the areal extension and connectivity of these bodies which are characterized by highly sedimentological and structural heterogeneities. Formation pressure data showed that flow in the reservoir was controlled by multiple thin sandstones (~ 2 m) isolated from one other. To determine which sand layers are connected fine scale sector models were constructed and subsequently evaluated by 3D dynamic simulation and tested against production, pressure and BHP data. This methodology has demonstrated the potential to recover significant incremental hydrocarbons by waterflooding the whole field UR - https://biblioteca.iapg.org.ar/ArchivosAdjuntos/CONEXPLOR2014/305-Metodologia-aplicada.pdf ER -
