Rotation of the drill string produces vibrations, and abnormal levels of vibrations put at risk the downhole and surface equipment and also detriment the hole condition. Adjusting drilling parameters like weight on bit and rotation speed allows reducing their level to acceptable for a safe and efficient drilling. However they need to be detected early enough to allow appropriate reactions. Thanks to a high data acquisition frequency technology and mathematical models, Geoservices developed a new service using sole surface measurements to provide an early detection of vibrations phenomenon. Part of the new mud logging approach of GeoNEXT, this application is successfully used on drilling operations in Argentina, North Sea district, Indonesia.</subfield>
