<subfield code="a">Transcripción del abstract original del autor: Influenced by dominance of LNG, a gas pricing scheme and contract terms in Asia had been built in a way that is considered to be more favorable to suppliers. The strict business pattern and unreasonable gas pricing scheme have together worked as obstacles to development of the Asian gas market. Recently, however, dramatic changes in Asian LNG pricing have been observed, particularly in the Guangdong, Fujian, and Dahej LNG projects. The estimated Guangdong LNG pricing formula generates prices that are much lower and less sensitive to oil price fluctuations. These changes were resulted directly from reducing the degree of oil indexation and adopting the oil price band. Indirectly, the facts that natural gas no longer a premium fuel and it should also compete with such competitors as fuel oils and coal affected the changes. At present, two gas projects are seriously being discussed in Northeast Asia. They are Kovykta gas pipeline project and Sakhalin-II LNG projects. These two gas projects would be greatly affected by the three LNG contracts in terms of pricing formula, particularly in that they have no other markets but the Northeast Asian regions. Expected changes in pricing would be lower prices and higher price stability. In brief, changes in the Asian LNG pricing initiated by Guangdong LNG project would undoubtedly decrease gas prices in the Northeast Asian regions and further to the whole Asia.</subfield>
