The productivity in mature fields may be prolonged by means of reduction of Sor using a suitable push fluid. One of the most used methods to determine the Sor value in situ is based on the chromatographic separation of oil-water partitioning tracer and non-partitioning tracer. The residual oil represents the oil that could not be displaced after a swept with a specific push fluid. The most common push fluid is regular water, but differences on temperature, salinity, even in additives (such as surfactants, polymers, etc.) conduce to a different value of Sor. Thus, the determination of Sor is an essential requirement to select a specific push fluid. This paper focus on testing and tuning up the technology at laboratory scale to identify important parameters related to design, performance, and interpretation of Single Well Chemical Tracer Tests (SWCTT) results. The comparison of the volumetric Sor on a controlled porous media against the Sor determined by SWCTT was the objective of this research. The successful of results will be the knowledge bases to implement this kind of test at oil field scale in Argentina UR - https://biblioteca.iapg.org.ar/ArchivosAdjuntos/Conexplor2018/SEF/1441.pdf ER -
