Anomalous fluid distributions (reservoir layers with scarce movable free water above gasiferous layers), layers with effective porosity and gas saturated but low or null productivity, or even sweet spots surrounded by low permeability reservoirs, among others, are typical aspects of these Tight-gas sands. With the objective of productivity optimization of these kind or reservoirs, two petrophysical methods were developed in order to define with high confidence the reservoir intervals that should be stimulated with hydraulic fractures. The first one is applying the Rock Typing analysis that allows the simulation of absolute gas permeability at surface conditions, calibrated with core data. The second one is to calculate an Initial Water Saturation (Swi) curve with effective/relative gas permeability measurements in rock samples at reservoir conditions; this curve in combination with a gas saturation curve can differentiate between high or low productivity gas layers in Los Molles Formations reservoirs UR - https://biblioteca.iapg.org.ar/ArchivosAdjuntos/Conexplor2018/SEF/1358.pdf ER -
