This paper presents a mineralogical and chemostratigraphic interpretation developed from the results of X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) obtained for 4 wells located in the central zone of the Middle Magdalena Valley basin, Colombia, these analyzes are generated in the laboratories of the Colombian Petroleum Institute (ICP); the information obtained is evaluated and correlated regionally based on the mineralogical proportions and chemostratigraphic aspects such as changes in the curves of major and minor elements and relationships of elements indicating detrital, carbonate and paleo redox contribution; From these correlations, 11 chemostratigraphic zones are proposed in the interval covered by the Olini group (Upper Lidite, Middle Shale, Lower Lidite members) and the La Luna Formation (Galembo, Pujamana, Salada members).
