With the purpose of contributing to the geological model and to the improvement in the mapping of the reservoir facies of the base of the Fm. Quintuco and the top of the Fm. Sierras Blancas for the location of an advance well, which will allow development to continue and incorporate proven reserves in the Los Caldenes area, a seismic characterization of reservoirs was carried out using the stochastic inversion method. The work allowed to improve the vertical detail and the spatial distribution of the reservoir facies as well as the delimitation of the most important geometric characteristics. In addition, information was obtained on the acoustic properties of the medium that allowed obtaining the total and effective porosity derived for the characterization of the reservoir. The quality control of the investment results, the probability maps of the reservoir rock and the most probable facies, is done with information from electrofacies, yielding a very good fit. To carry out a good sampling of the probability function in the intervals of interest, 60 realizations were run, which allowed estimating the volumetric distribution of the reservoir rock and the volumes P10, P50 and P90 were derived. Once the outputs impedance P, probability of reservoir rock, total and effective porosity are obtained, they are incorporated in the modeling stage and are used as a co-variable to populate the reservoir facies. The integration of the information derived from the seismic characterization in the geological modeling makes it possible to reduce the uncertainty in the facies distribution, especially in areas where there is little well control.
