Simultaneous source seismic acquisition has become a standard tool in the seismic world since it presents a faster, cost-effective alternative to traditional 3d acquisition. In Argentina, this technology has become available thanks to the arrival to the market of different types of autonomous nodes which allow continuous data recording. Many papers describe examples around the globe where "safe" separation distances between sources operating simultaneously are mentioned. In order to work with several vibrators while honoring these safe separation distances, a large number of active nodes is required. Keeping these distances would render impossible the application of this technology in relatively small-size projects. Early in 2021, Wellfield Services Ltda., in collaboration with Tecpetrol, carried out a complete stress test for this type of acquisition in an operating area of approximately 40 km2 in the Neuquén Basin. This test allows us to contrast a DSS (Dynamic Slip Sweep) acquisition with an ISS (Independent Simultaneous Sweeping) acquisition where a large number of sources is concentrated in a small area. The later processing of both types of acquisition leads to some interesting conclusions about the validity of these different methods. Simultaneously, important conclusions can be drawn by analyzing production statistics and comparing them with the ones from a conventional acquisition.
