Geological information from three wells located in Chachahuén Exploration Permit, South of Mendoza province (Argentina), was collected, described and analyzed. The oil accumulation is contained in a stratigraphic trap developed by truncation of Upper Centenario Formation (Hauterivian – Aptian), against Intersenonian erosive unconformity. The reservoir is mainly conformed by continental to coastal sandstones. This oil discovery helps to widespread the knowledge throughout the eastern border belt of the Neuquén basin.
