This study proposes the usage of geocellular modeling as an additional tool for the analysis of new areas development.In the Diadema Argentina field, located at the northern flank of the Golfo San Jorge Basin, more than 300 wells go through the upper part of Mina El Carmen Fm. Their production results are mainly related to the thickness and petrophysic quality of the reservoirs developed in this interval. These reservoirs are associated to a high sinuosity and variable width fluvial environment, with a complex lithology due to the presence of volcanic ashes. The understanding of their geometry and their petrophysical properties is required to optimize the analysis of new locations and specific procedures during the well completion.Starting from a time static model and the formation tops, a structural depth model was built for the Diadema Argentina field. Different zones were discriminated based on the sedimentary behaviour and in each of them a geocelular model of petrophysical properties was built. The heterogeneous distribution of the information (well logs) in the field supposed an additional difficulty when analysinggeostatiscal parameters and depositional trends.A general NW-SE trend was identified in most areas, which is consistent with the regional trends in this part of the basin. Aditionally, regions with higher reservoir thickness probability were obtained, which provided support for well proposals in each area.
