Facies propagation methodologies used to characterize reservoirs in the San Jorge Gulf Basin. In the static characterization of reservoirs, the different geostatistical modeling techniques provide predictions and quantitative estimations in order to obtain arepresentation as real as possible of the heterogeneous reservoirs as encountered in the San Jorge Gulf Basin. This allows to construct a geological model with distributions of facies and petrophysical properties more representative of the subsurface conditions. The objective of this work is to select the appropriate modeling technique to apply to thedifferent sedimentary environments present in the stratigraphic column in the North Flank of the San Jorge Gulf Basin, based on the availabledata. To select the correct simulation method for the propagation of facies on a grid, it is essential to know the characteristics of the sedimentary environment (net to gross variations), the input data (core, sidewall cores, seismic information, log set), the characteristics of the geoforms (geometry, width, thickness), interaction between geobodiesand its orientations (trend maps) and the structural model, in order tobest represent a model, a sedimentary environment and a process of deposition.
