Boundary of a non-drilling area through reprocessing and seismic interpretation, related to the location of intrusive bodies and associated faulting, in Golfo San Jorge Basin, Argentina A lot of problems happened during the drilling of several wells in an area of the Golfo San Jorge Basin, Argentina related to packing, clamping tools, circulation lost and finally the abandon of the wells. The same situation happened repeatedly times in different wells.Taking into account that situation occurs at similar drilling depths, the seismic data were the tool which proved to be the one to improve the knowledge of the area. Also helped to understand and visualize the reasons that caused these problems. After careful observation of the data, it was proposed a different reprocessing seismic workflow, focused particularly to enhance the results. Through this designed data reprocessing, it was possible to obtain an image of the igneous body present in the geologic column in the studied area, with more definition and with better geometric details than originally. From this seismic image, a new and better reinterpretation of the fault system was done, which was the most significant feature through the well A, located in the area that matches the packing problems. In this way it was possible to project to the surface a non-drilling area geometrically defined among the fault plane and the basalt real thickness, and has been demarcated as a recommended nondrilling area.
