Application of seismic and acoustic inversion of high-frequency for the development of an ancient deposit in the Neuquén Basin This paper presents the use of a technique (Sparse Layer algorithm) to increase the frequency of seismic cubes with the aim of improving vertical resolution and help understanding reservoir characteristics (lateral and vertical changes) and to define new areas to drill in Aguada del Chivato / Aguada Bocarey field. High frequency cubes were generated and used as input to calculate different high frequency attributes cubes. The work was done on deposits of the Mulichinco Formation, which is one of the most prolific reservoirs in the Neuquén Basin. The results show a good relationship between low impedance values and good reservoir conditions (Zp vs PHIE) and the possibility of using the impedance as a prospective guide. It is important to notice that the use of this methodology generates more work for the geophysical interpreter, due to the increasing seismic resolution and the new events to interpret. It is necessary to establish a geological criterion to define which is the maximum frequency accepted to interpret
