Transcripción del resumen del autor. The US government imposed a six-month moratorium on deepwater drilling in the Gulf of Mexico after the April 2010 Deepwater Horizon rig accident. Although the moratorium was lifted ahead of schedule, no permits for deepwater drilling were issued until mid-March 2011. Initially, these were restricted to companies whose projects had been approved and where work had started before the accident. Noble Energy, BHP Billiton and ATP Gas & Oil were among the first companies allowed to revisit their wells. Judith Gurney reports.
