Russia's fuel and energy complex currently fully meets the country's domestic requirements and its export needs, providing the amount of energy resources required for the country's effective social and economic development. Unfortunately, however, Russia's economy remains energy-inefficient. the country's GDP (gross domestic product; at purchasing power parity) is 2.3 times more energy-consuming then the rest of the world, and 3.1 times more than Europe.
