Rejuvenation of the hydrocracker at Repsol YPF's Lujan de Cuyo refinery in Mendoza, Argentina with Shell Global solutions reactors internals
Description: 17 pOnline resources: In: Summary: Transcripción del resumen del autor. YPF's 2004 replacement of the 1970's vintage conventional distributor and quenching tray technology in their Lujan de Cuyo Refinery HCU's reactor highlights the improvements that can be achieved by the use of Shell Global Solutions' (Shell GS)1 reactor internals technology. To date, more than 220 hydrocracking and hydrotreating units at worldwide refineries have enhanced their unit performance by applying Shell GS reactor internals technology. Post revamp YPF observed the following improvements for the Lujan de Cuyo Refinery's HCU, that were the result of implementing the new reactor internals: ; Elimination of gasoil recycle that was previously required resulting in substantial reduction in operating costs as well as a 22% increase in fresh feed throughput ; Opportunity for increased catalyst volume ; Lower radial temperature differential across beds In addition, YPF's choice of Shell GS reactor internals also contributed to the following benefits: ; Lower weighted average bed temperature (WABT) ; Opportunity for cycle length extension Results in this paper provide evidence of value delivered through the Shell GS reactor internals technology when applied to existing units. Many similar applications exist, in and outside the US and involving both new hydroprocessing units as well as revamps of existing units. To date, more than 220 hydrocracking and hydrotreating units at worldwide refineries have chosen Shell GS reactor internals technology in order to achieve similar results.| Current library | Status | Barcode | |
