Control del pozo Cantarell 69-I, utilizando el método dinámico

El desarrollo del campo Cantarell, requiere la perforación de 9 pozos en la cima del yacimiento para la inyección de 1200 millones de pies cúbicos por día (MMPCD) de nitrógeno que permitirá mantener la presión del casquete de gas y de esta manera maximizar la recuperación de hidrocarburos. Durante la perforación de la zona del casquete de gas en el pozo Cantarell 69-I, se presentó un brote de gas que derivó en un descontrol y posterior incendio de gran magnitud ocasionando daños al equipo de perforación. Por las condiciones de flujo del pozo, no era posible realizar el control por el interior del aparejo de producción por lo que se analizaron básicamente dos alternativas para la solución del problema: el control por momentum y el control dinámico. En este documento se presentan los resultados obtenidos con ambas técnicas, así como los procedimientos de análisis y de control del pozo. La secuencia operativa para controlar la contingencia en el menor tiempo posible, consistió en conectarse al cabezal de 20 x 13 5/8 pulg. con líneas de 2 pulg. hasta un barco cementador e iniciar a bombear agua de mar, requiriéndose únicamente 11 horas para controlar el pozo a partir de la manifestación del brote de gas. El éxito consistió en alcanzar una presión fluyendo de mayor magnitud que la del yacimiento a la profundidad del tie-back (680 m.). generada por las pérdidas por fricción y la columna de flujo multifásico (gas y agua de mar), dentro del aparejo de inyección.
