Transcripción del abstract original del autor: The forced competition in the gas market resulting from the liberalization of the European energy markets challenges the German gas industry to achieve cost reductions through structural adjustments. However, authorities at the same time place higher demands on operational safety and supply guarantees. The currently largest German regional gas utility company RWE Gas AG exemplifies these structural changes within this field of tension. The radical organizational change on all levels and in all departments and divisions together with the changes of the associated processes constitute an essential element of the restructuring of the RWE Gas AG. The new structure concept includes a significant reduction of service offices as well as the use of mobile teams for onsite service and repair activities. These mobile teams are equipped with a corresponding utility vehicle, which serves as office, workshop, as well as storage for spare parts and materials. This conference report introduces the new company structure, the most important changed processes as well as emergency services required to safeguard and ensure the supply of gas.
