World gas resources in sedimentary basins Resource base for XXI century

By: Contributor(s): Description: 6 pDDC classification:
  • CD I249 1 0013788
In: Summary: Transcripción del abstract original del autor: Gas-bearing potential of sedimentary basins (SB) of the World is analyzed. Current and initial proved reserves and potential conventional and unconventional resources are shown. The assessment includes the most important countries and regions: Russia, China, Arctic areas of the Earth. The critical analysis of existing estimations is presented, and there are separate authors estimations of initial potential resources (IPR) and not discovered resources of Western and Eastern Siberia, sedimentary basins of China, the World as a whole. The conclusion is drawn, that in the second half of the Ist century increasing role in the global production of natural gas will be played by unconventional sources: dense low-permeable gas-bearing formations, coal-bearing strata, superdeep accumulations of gas, gas hydrates etc.
